We have a stairlift to access temporary exhibits and events upstairs. If you have mobility issues and would like to access upstairs, please contact the museum beforehand.

Rooms available for hire

There are two rooms available to hire at Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life, comfortably accommodating 20 to 80 people in various formats.

Imphal

Theatre style: up to 50 people
Conference style: up to 20 people
Seated meal: up to 30 people

Imphal room hire

Full Day (9am-5pm): £150
Day Rates (hourly): £25 per hour
Evenings (hourly from 5pm): £40 per hour
Please note, the minimum charge is for 2 hours.

Kohima

Theatre style/drinks reception: up to 80 people
Conference style: up to 20 people
Seated meal: up to 50 people

Kohima room hire

Full Day (9am-5pm): £175
Day Rates (hourly): £30 per hour
Evenings (hourly from 5pm): £45 per hour
Please note, the minimum charge is for 2 hours.

 

Hire both rooms

Full Day (9am-5pm): £300
Day Rates (hourly): £45 per hour
Evenings (hourly from 5pm): £60 per hour
Please note, the minimum charge is for 3 hours.

Additional extras:

Tea, coffee and biscuits can be provided at £1.50 per head.

*Access to a kitchen can be arranged and is essential when bringing in outside caterers. There will be a standard cleaning charge of £40 for catered events, please contact the Museum for more information.

Organising a conference? Our rooms seat up to 20 people in a conference-style format, or 50-80 people in a theatre layout. Venue hire at the Museum includes essential audiovisual equipment such as a screen, projector, microphone and speakers.

Venue hire for training

Our historic rooms provide an original and productive space for training sessions and workshops. They can seat up to 20 classroom-style or 50 to 80 theatre-style with AV equipment and Wi-Fi. Refreshments can also be arranged. With ample parking spaces nearby and a central Carlisle location, Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life is convenient for attendees.
