Work Experience Placements

Curious about a career in the heritage sector? Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life provides work experience placements for secondary school, sixth form/college and university students to gain practical, hands-on experience working in a museum.

We can host two work placements per week with opportunities to experience several areas of museum work, including front-of-house, curatorial/collections, learning, programming and marketing.

Secondary and Sixth Form/College students:

Typical placements follow a Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm structure, unless stated otherwise.

Please note that work placements are only offered to Secondary and Sixth Form/College students studying GCSE/A-level History.

Interested? Click here to complete an application form.

All applicants will be notified if we are able to host you on the dates you have requested. Successful applicants will be provided with further details about the placement and asked to come into the Museum for an informal chat.

If you have any questions, please email rachel.brodie@cmoml.org.
