Airborne by Sea! a talk by Peter Green
Saturday 23 February, at 14.00, at the Museum.

‘Operation Slapstick’ in September 1943, saw 1 Border land in southern Italy as part of the UK’s Airborne Division. The operation was to seize the harbour of Taranto and the surrounding area to support further operations northwards along Italy’s Adriatic Coast. This is one of the least known operations by Britain’s airborne troops in WW2. To those taking part it was called ‘Operation Bedlam’.

Peter is the son of Alan Green,  one of the authors of ‘When Dragon’s Flew’ and a former 1 Border platoon commander.
