Description

My Dad’s Army: The White Gurkhas – The Story of the 9th Battalion of the Border Regiment 1940-1945

Compiled by Ian Wilson

Ian Wilson was born in 1947, but he talked to his father who had served with 9 Border about his WW2 experiences in Burma. It was from these accounts that he drew together the men of 9 Border for an annual reunion and his gift of listening to their stories subsequently led to this book being written. He also produced a newsletter for them called Thik Hai, an Indian Army greeting they were all familiar with.

The last reunion was held in Carlisle Castle in 2004.

(Paperback with black and white photographs 307 pages)
