Teachers CPD Day

Who is this training for?
Teaching staff (primary and secondary) who are interested in finding out more about Remembrance, resources available and developing ideas to use in schools.

What does the day involve?

  • Take part in an Archives-based workshop which demonstrates how original documents from World War I and World War II can be adapted for classroom use to introduce remembrance discussions
  • Poetry and the First World War – creative and simple ways to write poetry linked to Remembrance for primary school children
  • A general introduction to the theme of Remembrance in this
    Centenary year
  • Information about resources available
  • Activity ideas for the classroom and ideas sharing
  • A chance to look round our Lest We Forget temporary exhibition
  • Refreshments and a light lunch
