Deborah the First World War Tank – Building friendship in peacetime

12/11/2019 6:00 pm - 12/11/2019 7:30 pm

Cumbria's Museum of Military Life, Carlisle, UK

Fiona Graham & Paul Ottey

Date: Tuesday 12th November 2019
Venue: Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life (in Carlisle Castle)
Doors: 5:30pm for a 6pm start.

We will be discussing the discovery of a First World War Mark IV tank called Deborah from the Battle of Cambrai 1917.

Using film footage, interviews and drone technology we hope to show not only the story of Deborah but also how this National French Monument has brought British and French communities together in 2019.

Fiona and Paul will bring the story of Deborah to the UK after working exclusively with the Royal Tank Regiment in France and the tank’s founder Historian Philippe Gorczynski MBE.

Tickets for this talk are £5 pre-booked (£4 for Friends Members or £6 on the door).
