2023 marks the 80th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Sicily and Italy. The Border Regiment saw action in Operation Ladbroke in July 1943 (the Airborne invasion of Sicily), as well as Operation Slapstick (British landings in Southern Italy) in September later that year.
The evening will consist of talks on the Border Regiment’s time in Sicily and Southern Italy by Retired Curator Stuart Eastwood, and traditional dishes prepared by Celebrity Chef John Crouch. John will also be describing the origins and traditions behind each course.
This event has bee organised by the Friends of Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life and is always popular and well attended, so book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!
Doors will open at 5:00pm with the first presentation beginning around 5:30pm. Stuart and John will alternate talking about the Border Regiment’s History, and the culinary history behind each course. after the presentations, guests will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by John.
A fully licenced bar is available on the night.
