He has worked for English Heritage for 25 years as the Recording archaeologist for Hadrian’s Wall, Full time supervisor at Carlisle Castle and Senior supervisor at Housesteads Roman fort on Hadrian’s Wall. ‘Thunder of the Guns’ was awarded the Hunter Davies Prize for Lakeland Book of the Year 2018 Runner Up.
