The Museum is located in Alma Block in the Outer Ward of Carlisle Castle. As you enter through the Castle gateway the Museum is straight in front of you, accessible by a path through the picnic area.
Toilets including disabled toilets and baby changing are available in the museum.
The ground floor has full wheelchair access. There is a platform lift to first floor which will only accommodate some wheelchairs. Please contact the Museum for more information.

Shop – The Museum has a small shop stocking a range of publications (many relating to WWI and WWII) a range of historical reproduction newspapers and collectible replicas relating to WWI & WWII, key rings, pens and various souvenirs etc.
Cafe – Our cafe is open 10:00 am to 4:00pm 7 days a week May to October and run by John Watt who also have a Cafe in Bank Street Carlisle which has being in existence since 1865.
Conference and function rooms – The Museum has two dedicated rooms on the first floor for functions and conferences that are available for hire. For more information including rates and available dates please get in touch with us here.
